About us
Our committee is made up from members from each class from across the school. We believe that everyone should be responsible for and respect the environment and its inhabitants
As one of our first tasks we worked put together an action plan and ECO Code that is displayed in every classroom.
As part of the school curriculum environmental issues have incorporated into different topic areas.
Our work fits in with these UN Sustainable Development Goals: 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), 13 (Climate Action ) 14 (Life Below Water) and 15 ( Life on Land)
Our activities
Since we have started, we have
- Taken part in Switch off Fortnight
- Taken part in Walk to School Week.
- We have led assemblies on climate change
- We have had gone and undertaken litter picking in the school grounds and the local community.
- We have held an Environmental Week
- We have developed our school allotment
- We have different collection schemes within the school for recycling including batteries and pens.
