School Vision

Our Vision

… for every single child at Harmans Water Primary school, is that;

From their very first day at this school;

  • they will receive exceptional and inspirational teaching from every one of our teachers. Teachers who love the school, care deeply about every child. Teachers who possess a high level of professional skill and who work together to create a school that no-one ever wants to leave;
  • we will work closely with and support their parents to develop in their children, through the primary years, the essential skills and knowledge that they will need in the years ahead because we believe that a great education is the key to a happy, rewarding and successful life;
  • they will be given the widest possible range of opportunities within an exciting, engaging and carefully planned curriculum that will often come to life in magical ways, enriching their lives and broadening their horizons; they will be encouraged to grasp those opportunities with both hands, to try new things, to have a go, to do something more, to break through their perceived limitations, to be brave and to experience the joy of success  (and celebrate it!) or to face failure with resilience and courage and learn from it;
  • they will be nurtured in this very special place where children are respected, listened to and understood, where they can expect to have open, fair and honest conversations with adults to help them come to terms with who they are, what they do and how they can become the best they can be;
  • they will feel safe within a caring and attractive learning environment, a school with which they will feel a deep and personal connection, a school which they will help to care for and develop, and in which they will have huge and lasting pride;

By the time they leave us at the end of Year 6,

  • they will be skilled communicators and mathematicians, well-rounded learners with a broad experience and knowledge of the foundations of the sciences, humanities, the creative arts and sport, young people who are responsible, independent and are aware of their own potential, who have a broad rationale and blueprint for their journey through life and who can eventually enter adulthood and the world of work with confidence and honesty.
