Setting Homework
Homework at Harmans Water
We want all of our children to understand that learning takes place at home as well as school, it extends the challenge open to pupils and ensures that teaching time is used to maximum effect.
We do also recognise that children need time to take part in clubs and activities outside school and enjoy time with their families, so we have a structure for everyone in school that allows that flexibility for all.
All Year groups have homework set on the same day - Thursday. We have set this so that if families know they are going to have a busy weekend then children can have their work completed on Thursday.
Homework is also collected on the same day - Tuesday. We collect on that day because if, over the weekend children find homework too challenging to complete, then they have Monday to see the teacher and ask for help.
What Homework will be set ?
All children in Y1 - Y6 will have a maths book and an English book - activities that reflect the learning that they have been doing in school.
