Homework in Years 1-6

We believe that work done at home is a valuable part of schoolwork.  It extends the challenge open to pupils and ensures that teaching time is used to maximum effect. We also recognise that children need time to take part in clubs and activities outside school and enjoy time with their families.

Setting Homework

Different year groups may set homework on different days. Early in the autumn term, a letter will come home from the Phase Leader in your child’s year group setting out their expectations for the year.

Standard homework in KS2 will usually be set via our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) DB Primary. Opportunities will be provided for children to access the VLE in school when needed

The Phase Leader will also send home a termly curriculum overview so that parents and carers know what their children are studying. This will also be posted on the school website.
