ELSA

How do the sessions work?
These sessions are 1:1 and are run by the same adult each time, in order for the children to build a good rapport. The sessions may be held in one of the designated ELSA rooms in school, or they may be held in a location in school of the child's choice. During the weekly sessions, emotions and wellbeing will be explored through activities like games, art, conversation, an interest of the child, etc.
What is ELSA?
ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) is a short-term intervention for children who may need further support with their emotional and social wellbeing. Children are assessed (and take part in a self-assessment) in key areas, such as anxiety, friendships, anger and more. Sessions are then tailored to each individual child's needs.
