Assemblies
Our school assemblies are a way for the school community to come together to learn and celebrate success. We are all together as a whole school each Monday and Friday, then on other days children have assemblies in their phases, year groups or classes.
Each week we have an assembly theme that might be linked to religious festivals, national days, our school values, British values or topics from current affairs.
Each week, we have a music assembly each week where children learn to sing songs. We also have a class assembly called CREW where the children and class teacher focus on key priorities for the class – this might be learning, behaviour or social development work.
Twice a year the children have a class assembly where they share and explain their learning from the term to their parents and other children.
Our Friday Celebration Assemblies are lively, times where we celebrate successes from our school community. We give out Headteacher Awards for one child per class who has stood out for demonstrating the school values or who has particularly impressed their teacher that week. Adults in school can also be nominated to receive a Headteacher award by other adults or by children. To celebrate children who have been reading regularly we celebrate them with a Reading Raffle. We love to hear about the outcomes of sporting events and to celebrate any significant achievements from outside school.
