Mental Health and Wellbeing Support
Accessing the Right Help and Support
We have worked alongside the Mental Health Team to create a document to show the support on offer, both in school and through the use of external resources and agencies. Please use this document to help with who to communicate with about any concerns or support needed for your child.
Mental Health Team
We have regular meetings with the Mental Health Team and are assigned a Education Mental Health Practitioner to our school. We hold regular consultations to discuss children and the support to put in place, as well as refer children for interventions run by this team.
Pupil Voice
Children take part in a wellbeing survey, which has been designed with support from the Mental Health Team. This takes part twice a year, and enables staff to have a better understanding of each indidivual pupil and how their attitudes towards school and their wellbeing. We also run pupil voice sessions through focus groups throughout the year and children can make recommendations through their School Council Representative for each class too.
Coffee Mornings
We hold regular coffee mornings throughout the year in school. an Education Mental Health Practitioner attends these, along with other external agencies we invite along. This is a chance for parents to discuss their concerns and worries in a group setting, and to undertake workshops in a comfortable setting. For example, the Mental Health Practitioner delivered a workshop around behaviour techniques to be used at home.
